He is Risen

Happy Easter Sunday! Here is a really good movie of what Easter is all about:

He is risen! He is risen!
Tell it out with joyful voice.
He has burst his three days' prison;
Let the whole wide earth rejoice.
Death is conquered, man is free.
Christ has won the victory.

Into the Archives-8

It was my 4th birthday in 2000 and I adored Pooh Bear. (I still have a soft spot for that little character.) Hence the extravagant cake that mom made. What's even better...we still have those little toys from the cake.

My Hair One Week Later

Today is the one week anniversary of my hair cut. In honor of that here is video of what can happen when I let friends play with it:
As a side note, I put "Justin Bieber" in the video tags just to see what would happen. In about 24 hours I had 30 views. So funny!

In December 2006 my Sunday school teachers asked if we wanted to have a class party. Well of course we did! Somehow we convinced them that we should go to Chuck E. Cheese's. My friend Atlanta and I decided to get our picture taken together with some of our coins. I just found it the other day in my stack of things to scrapbook (which never happens) and scanned it. I thought it would make a good ITA post.

Being Spontaneous

People are always asking "Why did you just do that? That was so random." I just say "I like being spontaneous. It keeps life interesting."
Well...this was Mondays spontaneous-ness:

My ponytail is off to Locks of Love!
(And this is what happens if I don't watch out.)

So whatdya think?!? Me thinks its pretty awesome!

P.S. If I look sick...its because I am. Uggg you cold/allergies or possibly both.

The First Orbit of the Earth

Today is the 50th anniversary of the first orbit of the earth by man. I have always been interested in aerospace and stuff so this movie is interesting to me. To others it may be long and boring. Over and hour and a half long of views from the space station of what it would have looked like during the first orbit with the original mission audio to make it more authentic. I think the music behind it is beautiful too. Even if you don't watch the whole thing you can skip through it and get the idea.
I would also watch this because it explains the work that went into this project.

(I scheduled this post for 11:12 PM...get it?)

As you might know we have a pretty big yard. And with it comes lots of little creatures. Sometimes we find Black Swallowtail caterpillars on our dill. So we collect them and and raise them in one of our animal tanks. Soon they form chrysalises and we wait for a few weeks until they emerge and we have butterflies! 2003 was a pretty good year and we had 2 or 3 butterflies to release after their wings dried.

Yesterday was very busy and the computer was dead half the day so I didn't get around to the Thursday post so here it is a day late.
In 2006 we were sitting in our doctors office when a lady walked in with a small pet carrier. We came to find out that there was a baby squirrel in it. Then she let us (Me, KEW & GRW) hold it. It was the cutest little thing! Anyway, she told us that she worked with the local nature center and helped raise orphan squirrels.
(More Pictures)
Since then I have started volunteering at the Lakeside Nature Center and now I have held (baby) squirrels, rabbits, snakes etc. I have done a few posts on our family blog about my experiences there:
